Supervises patient care services provided in the dental hygiene clinic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: <br><br><br><ul><br><li><span><span> Provides anesthesia for patient care when indicated</span></span><span> </span></li><br></ul><br><ul><br><li><span><span> Administers nitrous oxide when indicated</span></span><span> </span></li><br></ul><br><ul><br><li><span><span>Manages emergency medical procedures when necessary</span></span><span> </span></li><br></ul><br><ul><br><li><span><span>Monitors safety practices and infection control standards in the dental clinic.</span></span><span> </span></li><br></ul><br><ul><br><li><span><span>Authorizes and documents radiographs </span><span>indicated</span><span> for patient care.</span></span></li><br></ul><br><ul><br><li><span><span>Authorizes dental hygiene treatment plan based on review of medical/dental history.</span></span><span><br></span></li><br></ul><br><ul><br><li><span><span>Administers pharmaceutical medications when </span><span>indicated</span><span> for patient care.</span></span><span> </span></li><br></ul><br><ul><br><li><span><span>Performs other clinical duties as directed by the Dental Hygiene Program Director.</span></span><span><br></span></li><br></ul><br><ul><br><li><span><span>Maintains regular and reliable attendance.</span></span><span><br></span></li><br></ul><br><ul><br><li><span><span>Performs other duties as assigned.</span></span><span> </span></li><br></ul>
Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:
• Current dental license in state of practice <br><br><br>• Professional experience necessary to understand and fulfill program goals <br>• Current CPR certification/health care provider <br><br><br>• Excellent oral and written communications <br><br><br>• Five years of full-time dental practice experience
