We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed term Pharmacy Technician to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood, a category C Prison located in Wolverhampton.

HMP Oakwood is one of the largest prison in the UK, housing over 1,500 men.

The Pharmacy Team consists of 10 Pharmacy Techs, 2 Pharmacy Assistants.

There are 3 main houseblocks which have two dispensaries to work out of and three smaller units with one dispensary.

This is a fixed term contract until April 2027

The site offers:

Hours:

- Monday - Sunday service
- 37.5 hours per week
- Shifts covering between 7am - 6pm
- 8 week rolling rota
- Every other weekend

Salary:

Between £29,264 - £33,510 per annum depending on experience.

## Qualifications

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

- Ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
- Ensuring timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
- Work together to make a difference to all the people we support, and make Practice Plus Group, a place where each of us feels appreciated, challenged and supported to do our best work – fulfilling the lives of others.
- Communicate complex or sensitive information whilst demonstrating empathy and understanding to patients.
- Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team are appropriately informed.

- You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC)
