AWS is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to play a key role on the Infrastructure Central Finance team. This position will work closely with multiple stakeholders in finance, product development and supply chain across the organization to align critical inputs, ranges of outcomes, and confidence intervals. This is a high judgment role that has direct exposure to Amazon’s C-suite and board of directors, requiring someone who can execute without structured guidance, navigate ambiguity, and effectively deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain reports and financial models related to AWS Infrastructure, sharing findings and recommendations with leaders to influence decision making, while routinely delivering error-free reporting and resolving controllership risks.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes that reduce defects and improves performance. Identify reporting and data defects, inclusive of root causes and resolution paths.
  • Develop strong working relationships with peers and managers across multiple teams, ensuring all stakeholders work cohesively to meet deadlines, resolve issues and escalate when conflicts arise.
  • Support ad-hoc requests from finance and business executives; communicate data clearly and concisely both verbally and writing, inclusive of communicating financial issues to non-finance partners.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
  • 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience

Preferred qualifications

  • 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • MBA, or CPA
