We are currently hiring a Financial Analyst Co-Op Student for the January to April term to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team based at our Head Office in Burnaby, reporting to the Assistant Manager, Finance.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with Senior Financial Analysts to interpret financial data and develop insights that support business decision-making.
  • Perform financial and strategic analysis, including actual-to-budget comparisons, KPI analysis and trend analysis.
  • Use financial systems and tools to extract, analyze and interpret data for reporting and analysis.
  • Support data validation and reconciliation activities to help ensure financial information is accurate and complete.
  • Present your work clearly and effectively through written analysis, formal presentations and day-to-day team discussions.
  • Contribute to process improvement, automation and efficiency initiatives, including the use of AI where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance Operations and other internal teams to gain exposure to end-to-end finance processes.
  • Complete other related tasks and projects as assigned.

What you bring:

  • Current enrolment in an undergraduate program with a concentration in commerce, business administration, finance or a related field.
  • Up to one year of relevant experience or exposure in finance or accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An interest in financial modelling, analysis and turning data into useful insights and presentations.
  • Exposure to Excel, Word, PowerPoint or other financial analysis software is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize your time and work independently when required.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and clarify instructions, questions and expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions and approach unfamiliar tasks with curiosity.

The salary range for this position is $25.70/hour to $32.12/hour and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.
