Job Description:
This job is responsible for managing clients and related credit products, partnering closely with relationship management, sales/trading, treasury management, operations and risk teams to support the client relationship. Key responsibilities include underwriting, monitoring, managing operational needs and/or client requests. Job expectations include credit-focused client management responsibilities, independent thought leadership, strong leadership skills, the ability to provide feedback to less experienced teammates and may also manage a team.

Embedded across the bank’s eight lines of business, the Global Infrastructure Credit team reflects the bank’s initiative to fuel the global economy, build trust and credibility with communities, and represents a company that people want to work for, invest in, and do business with. The Global Infrastructure Credit team supports the continued growth in sustainable and infrastructure finance and further deliver on Bank of America’s Critical Infrastructure Finance Initiative. The Global Infrastructure Credit Team covers transactions for Project Finance, Tax Equity and Corporate Lending through involvement in the origination and underwriting of transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with relationship management and product partners to assess clients’ credit needs and create solutions
  • Leads loan structure conversations and negotiates loan documentation with clients and internal/external legal partners
  • Drives credit and risk approval processes for new credit originations, renewals, increases, and modifications
  • Leads ongoing monitoring efforts for a portfolio of clients in compliance with regulations, policy and procedure
  • Drives the growth of funded loans and revenue while mitigating risks, maintaining asset quality and adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Serves as an escalation point for complex credit transactions
  • Mentors and supports associates
  • Lead the underwriting and documentation of project finance and other credit facilities, ensuring alignment with client needs and the bank’s risk/return objectives
  • Lead the financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic, and other analyses to support the loan decision-making process
  • Conduct research and develop comprehensive credit approval packages, including written transaction justification and supporting documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 + years of experience in commercial banking or finance industry with significant credit, tax equity, infrastructure/energy project finance experience, and data center financings

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree (MBA). Engineering, mathematics or other technical degrees will be considered with an MBA
  • Strong understanding of financial models and analysis
  • Extensive experience in analysis and management of highly complex, project-oriented transactions (tax equity and debt), including problem solving. Demonstrated aptitude for reviewing, understanding and interpreting associated transaction documents and project contracts.
  • Strong credit and risk analysis skills, including experience in commercial and large corporate credit analysis.
  • Ability to work efficiently and productively on several transactions or tasks at one time.
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients and partners.  Experience mentoring junior associates.
  • Clear and articulate oral and written communication skills.
  • Formal credit training program at financial institution
