ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology has the power to solve the world’s most important challenges. From advancing healthcare and scientific discovery to powering AI and the technologies people rely on every day, innovation at AMD is shaping the future.

Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or bringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward. Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career.

THE ROLE:

A Program Manager in NPI Program Management team plays an integral role in planning, steering, and delivering the timely rollout of AMD's latest products, directly tied to AMD's business success and our customers' outcomes. You will drive advanced semiconductor technology through the full New Product Introduction lifecycle, connecting engineering execution with supply chain and operational readiness, while growing along a meaningful Program Management career path.

THE PERSON:

A meticulous professional who understands both the engineering disciplines that define semiconductor NPI and the supply chain and operational frameworks that bring new products to market at scale. You can connect the dots across design, silicon technology, manufacturing, and procurement domains, translating technical realities into actionable program plans and holding all stakeholders, including suppliers and engineering teams, accountable to commitments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own overall program planning and ensure cross-functional organizational goals, including engineering milestones and supply chain readiness gates, are met on schedule.
  • Establish and maintain strong peer networks with functional group leaders across Design, Silicon Technology Development, Product and Assembly Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations teams.
  • Drive NPI rollouts per the Plan of Record (POR), defining and tracking the full schedule from Tape-Out through Package Development, Product Validation, Characterization, Qualification, and Production Release of targeted SKUs, with clear ownership of both engineering and operational dependencies at each phase.
  • Coordinate engineering execution across the NPI cycle, ensuring alignment among Silicon Verification, Characterization, ATE Test Development, Package and Assembly Engineering, and Product Qualification teams to meet program milestones.
  • Lead manufacturing planning and execution activities, including capacity alignment with foundry and OSAT partners, manufacturing readiness reviews, and production transfer to volume manufacturing.
  • Manage supplier relationships and coordinate supplier deliverables across the NPI lifecycle, setting clear expectations, tracking commitments, and escalating gaps to ensure timely delivery of silicon, substrates, and other critical materials.
  • Plan and execute the timely delivery of Engineering material (packaged parts, piece parts, and wafers) to enable critical NPI activities including VNC, Characterization, and Qualification, managing internal demand signals against supplier capacity and lead times.
  • Manage risks proactively by identifying technical and supply chain constraint points, developing mitigation options, and driving organizational alignment on change requests in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the focal point for cross-functional alignment and communication, running regular syncs, capturing actions, driving open items to closure, and compiling program status updates for management.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Depth and breadth in delivering complex semiconductor programs spanning both engineering and operational dimensions, with integrated deliverables across multiple functional organizations, preferably for silicon products at 16nm or below.
  • Solid engineering foundation with demonstrated competency in one or more of the following: Semiconductor Manufacturing Flow, Foundry Engineering, Package and Assembly Engineering, Product Engineering, ATE Test Solution Development, Silicon Verification, Characterization, or Product Qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in semiconductor supply chain operations, including direct involvement with foundry or OSAT supply chains, internal demand planning, and material fulfillment for NPI programs.
  • Strong background in manufacturing planning and execution within a semiconductor context, with understanding of wafer starts, cycle times, yield impacts, capacity planning, and production transfer readiness.
  • Experience managing suppliers and external manufacturing partners, including setting delivery expectations, conducting business reviews, resolving escalations, and driving continuous improvement on supplier performance.
  • Proven track record of achieving results across organizational boundaries, including the ability to influence without authority across engineering, supply chain, and operations teams.
  • Technical or project lead background in Semiconductor Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline, with direct NPI involvement, will be considered.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex engineering and supply chain status clearly for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365, JIRA, and other project and collaboration tools.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a Supply Chain related field with relevant industry experience.
